High intensity lighting plays an important role in high speed imaging. To prevent motion blur, short exposure times are essential. This requires high intensity light sources that can be readily synchronised to the recording period. Pulse Photonics takes a particular pride in the design and construction of the special light sources necessary for use with high-speed cameras. Tell us about your requirements and we will make a light source that will meet your needs
The SensiFlash high intensity Xenon discharge systems can be used with gated intensified and CCD cameras to illuminate fast single and multiple events either directly or with fibre optic light guide. The SensiFlash has durations from 25us to 10ms with powers ranging from 250 to 2500 Joules. A rugged version of this light source is supplied as standard with the FlyteCAM ballistics camera.

Pulse Photonics Palflash 501 produces up to four high intensity pulses of illumination with a half peak value of between 250 and 750ns and separation of 1us. This small discharge point source is ideal for Schlieren imaging and where UV radiation is essential for certain types of spectroscopy. This light source can also be used for shadowgraph imaging where it is not possible to use Schlieren optics. The short exposure and duration times between light pulses makes it ideal for aerosol and droplet be-haviour studies.
